Workshops at the Cannery, Esperance

As part of my residency in Esperance in January, I will be running some workshops at the Cannery, Norseman Rd.
This activity is designed for 6-8year olds. The topic of FISH has been inspired by an aboriginal style of painting, which is cut out and mounted on cartridge paper. All the leftover cut-outs can be used for the background with some acrylic colour applied around the shapes. I love the innocence of children's drawing and cutting.

                                                YEARS 9-12: FUNKY CHARACTERS

These collage designs explore creative possibilities using black and white patterns, texta drawing and minimal colour.

ABSTRACTING THE GUITAR IN CUBIST STYLE
Years 13-18 Beginners

This activity is all about playing with shapes and lines  relating to the guitar, dissecting them and re-arranging them. Picasso was renowned for this form of expression.

FIGURES IN ACTION: YEARS 13-18 ADVANCED

THE FIGURE CAN OFTEN BE QUITE INTIMIDATING TO DRAW BUT BY TAKING YOUNG ARTISTS THROUGH SOME EASY STEPS, THEY CAN OVERCOME THIS HURDLE EASILY AND WITH CONFIDENCE AND GREAT SATISFACTION.
With a limited palette, the main focus is on the figure. An exciting project!
